A ceasefire in the latest Middle East conflict in Lebanon and northern Israel came into force on 14 August. During five weeks of fighting hundreds of people died and thousands were made homeless. Here is an estimate of the impact of the crisis on Lebanon and Israel up to 14 August, 2006 (unless otherwise stated).
